David Turin of Surf Camp David Turin

David founded Surf Camp in 2001 and has been surfing for 17 years. He prefers to longboard but also likes shortboarding when conditions prevail. David learned to surf in Maine at Higgins Beach (just down the road!) and now has experience surfing all over the world, including Fiji, Costa Rica, and South Africa. In addition to teaching his own 4 children to surf, David has taught surfing privatley for 8 years and holds certifications in Life Saving, CPR, and First Aid. Brendan ROgers of Surf Camp Brendan Rogers

Brendan has been surfing for 9 years and is proud to be the only goofy-footer in Surf Camp! He graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School in 2008 and is currently a Sports Business major at the University of Southern Maine. Brendan, known more frequently as "B-Man", also enjoys tearing up the pavement when the surf goes flat (along with the rest of the camp staff). If you need someone to carry your board and dripping wetsuit at camp, just ask Brendan because he'll always have your back. Brendan is a certified Lifeguard and holds additional certification in CPR and First-Aid; this will be Brendan's 3rd summer with Surf Camp.

Sawyer Theriault of Surf Camp Sawyer Theriault

Sawyer has been surfing for 9 years with experience up and down the coast of Maine, California, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. Sawyer is a senior at Cape Elizabeth High School and will be continuing his education in 2009 at a yet-to-be-decided University. Sawyer also proudly proclaims that he's found his inner soul-surfer, and can often be found jamming out on his acoustic guitar under the summer stars; he'll show you just how to put the soul-surfer style into the swells at Scarborough Beach. Sawyer isn't just a big softie though; he claims to have “destroyed” fellow surf instructor Bill Stone in competitions of ultimate frisbee, kick ball, home-run derby, ping-pong, and even Halo on the rainy days. This will be Sawyer’s 3rd summer with Surf Camp; he is a certified Lifeguard and hold additional certifications in CPR and First-Aid.

Owen Pearson of Surf Camp Owen Pearson

Owen has been surfing for 9 years and likes to shortboard no matter how small the surf gets -- to see him on a lognboard is really a rare sight to behold (and a little funny too). Known informally as "O-Spice", Owen has surfing experience in Costa Rica, California, Florida and all over New England. He has also competed in local surf competitions. When he isn't trying to do airs or attempting to get barreled, Owen practices his second love: playing the guitar and singing in his band. This will be Owen's 3rd year with Surf Camp; he is a certified Lifeguard and holds additional certifications in CPR and First Aid.
